Our Trip to Iowa: Part one

Katelyn, Vinnie, and I

Jonathan, Chaun, and Vinnie

Katelyn snuggling with her Uncle Chad. Jonathan had a lot of fun with Chad. He said he liked to smell Chad's head. It was pretty funny. Sadly I didn't get any pictures of them together.

When we got to Iowa we got welcome our new nephew, Vincent Kenneth, into the world. We were so excited to meet him. He is beautiful!! Congratulations to Chad (Chaun's brother) and Nikki!!

Katelyn is ready to go to Iowa! She climbed in while I was packing. It was cute until she started throwing all the clothes out of the suitcase (sorry about her hair mom...the bow must have fallen out).

Chaun, the kids, and I headed to Iowa for Easter weekend. We spent Easter with Chaun's family, then Chaun headed back to Kentucky and I headed to my parent's house. The first picture is just one I thought was cute of Katelyn at the park before we left.

Little Farmers

Our friend Jack had a birthday party at a petting zoo. We were suppose to come dressed like farmers and Kate was provided with her own little cowgirl skirt. Sadly we didn't get a picture with the birthday boy. But here are some pictures of my kiddos at the party.

Everyday fun

He does not like his bed. He says he is going to get "pooies" on the bed. So this is where he sleeps...the floor. How it could be more comfortable than I bed I don't understand.

I ran to the neighbors and came back and this is what I found.

Here is a peek at our everyday life.
Jonathan playing with shaving cream. All his animals and football players are buried in it.
Jonathan constantly entertains us. Here are a few of his common questions:
"Why?" (yes we have begun that wonderful phase)
"Hey mom, is that pretty dangerous?"
"Is that a pretty good idea?"

Fun in February

CRAZY!! That is all I have to say.

We went to a birthday party with a puppy dog theme. Everybody got these cute little ears. Jonathan loved his ears and I thought he looked pretty cute with the ears and puppy pajamas!

Eating chili, she LOVED it!

Standing up like a big girl. Every day she takes more and more steps.

Katelyn being silly!

I decided to post some random pictures of fun we have had in February. The one above is of Alexa and Jonny making Valentine cookies. They didn't last long, but it was cute to watch them try. But we all loved the cookies! YUMMY!!!

The Big Party!

Standing up like a big girl!

Peeking again

Fun with a balloon. PEEK!

The birthday girl close up.

I tried to get a picture of the kids at the party but that was pretty tricky. Here is Jonathan, Kaitlyn, and Alexa (and the birthday Katelyn of course). Jake, Jed, Luke, Jack, Wheeler, Addy, and Claire came too.

Tried walking with balloons between their legs.

We had a lot of bigger kids at our party so I played a few games. We pinned the middle on the flower.

Tasting the cake. She was very careful taking dainty little bites.

Getting ready to blow out her candle (Jonny helped her out).

The day after Katelyn's birthday we invited friends over for her party! She had a crazy but fun party! My friend, Anna and her mom, Deb made Kate's big, beautiful, flower cake! It was delicious.

Katelyn Turns One!

Mmmm, those look good!

This picture is out of order but it is Katelyn on the morning of her birthday.

This looks fun! Too bad it is empty.

Her present. She is not sure what to think.

Our sweet girl turned one on February 4th.
I can't believe it has been one year already!!
She is growing and changing everyday.
She is trying to walk but still finds crawling much faster.
She loves to "play" with Jonathan.
She doesn't love solid food but we are slowly making progress.
She does love sweet potatoes and yogurt.
She has 12 teeth!
She weighs 15 pounds and is my little peanut!
She is full of smiles and brings much joy into our lives.
We love you Baby Cakes!!!

God is Good!

Celebrating all our hard work/fun at Applebees! Yummy!! Thanks for all your help Grandma and Grandpa. We had a lot of fun!

I put this picture in so you had an idea of how neat the museum was (although this doesn't do it justice). The people looked so real. We walked through creation, the fall, Noah's Ark and much more.

We also went to the creation museum. It was amazing!

Katelyn crawling through the giant baseball glove.

In the midst of moving and cleaning we tried to have some fun with Grandma and Grandpa too. We went to the Louisville Slugger museum. Jonathan had a great time hitting (too bad he didn't ever get to enjoy HITS, boy he would have loved it).

January was a big month. We found out that a three bedroom apartment with washer/dryer hookups (not many apartments have washer/dryer hookups) was available at our apartment complex. To make a long story shorter we decided to snag it while we could. So we had about two weeks to find someone to rent our apartment and move. Once again we saw the Lord provide for us in many ways: we found someone to rent our apartment; Jeff and Sandy were able to come to help us move; and we found out a week after we took our apartment that we are expecting our third baby!!!! That means we would have had to move in July and God provided for us before we even realized how much we needed the three bedroom apartment (and that it had washer/dryer hookups to top it off, an extra blessing). So we are excited to welcome Baby Bergmeier #3 on September 3rd!
