As I said earlier I was scheduled to be induced Tuesday morning. The doctor said in the mean time if I had contractions or my water breaks I need to get to the hospital quick. He was worried that the cord could possibly come out first since Ellie was sideways in me. I was pretty sure nothing would happen early, but on Monday I kept having contractions when I got up and cleaned or did something with my kids. I would sit down for awhile and they would go away. I even took an hour nap. Around 4:00 I had a couple of contractions that were a little closer together. So I thought I should check with my doctor and see what he wanted me to do. They told me to lay on the couch, drink water and if the contractions got stronger and closer together to come in. I laid down on the couch, Chaun decided to run to Target (he was a little nervous about going but decided to get gas and run to Target quick). I was sure I would be fine until tomorrow (Tuesday). I had a really strong contraction and then felt a pop and water came pouring out of me. The doctor had told me "You'll know if your water breaks. You'll flood the room." He wasn't joking. It just kept pouring out of me. We called Chaun and he came flying back home (thankfully he hadn't gotten too far, he only ran one red light). In the meantime water was still pouring out of me. It was crazy. We called the doctor to let them know we were coming and took off. (My parents had pulled into town an hour before my water broke so they stayed home with our kids-another neat thing God did for us). I wasn't really packed so we left with nothing. We were both pretty nervous. I wasn't sure how serious it was and was worried about the cord coming out. When we got to the hospital they were looking for us. They checked me...the cord was still in but the baby was still sideways. So they said they could not turn the baby now so I would have to have c-section. In just a short amount of time I was headed back to surgery. At 5:57 they pulled the baby out of my belly and announced we had a girl. Eleanor Mae was born and everyone was healthy. We named her Eleanor Mae after my dad's mom. I never met her but I've been told she was a wonderful lady. We are once again overwhelmed by God's mercy to us. He gave us a beautiful healthy girl.
We are thankful to Him and praise Him for this new precious life.
